Black Out

Dark day on campus as the eclipse passed over us, blocking out 99.1% of the sun. Scattered my kids across the campus, county and state to cover the reaction and I wandered over to Sanford Stadium along with 25,000 others for a viewing party.

And it was hot, hot enough that some enterprising folks broke into an ice box when the concession stand lines got too long. Others took to the shade, but it was pretty darned cool in the end.

Intro, Take Two

For the first time in 12 years, all my teaching falls on two days of the week (Monday and Wednesday). Today, I met the second set of intro students and had them look at a news photo and tell me what they needed to know to be able to make that photo.

First time with this exercise and I think it went pretty well, a lot of questions about technical stuff but some about access.
