A lot of things going on around the college and home of late, but today was my mother’s birthday. She passed five years ago last month, seems so long ago and just yesterday. I really needed a little place and space today.

A lot of things going on around the college and home of late, but today was my mother’s birthday. She passed five years ago last month, seems so long ago and just yesterday. I really needed a little place and space today.

A little busier on a Sunday night than normal as we had the Advanced Photojournalism kids over for a Pie Night.
Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like – most of the class, the dean and his wife plus one of my faculty colleagues, all filled the house with pie.
There was even a Best of Show award, a fancy pie server, won by McGee Nall.


Out on the backroads, there are a lot of abandoned structures. Some are lost to time, some maybe not. This, with some work, could be a nice little retreat for someone.

Late in the afternoon, the leadership team for the college gathered for a little celebration. They’ve cleared the accreditation hurdle and announced some promotions.

One by one, hundreds by hundreds, as the classes change.


We’re getting ready to demolish much of the front office space (the dean’s suites), so everything is coming off the walls and heading to storage.


Still too warm here to really need firewood.
