Was out on the porch, on my weekly call when I heard a crack. Looked up to see a big limb falling from my favorite oak tree, landing with a mighty thump.

Staunton, Virginia
Uhaul’s handling of the broken trailer last night was good, reasonably efficient, even. They hauled our trailer south to Staunton where we’d be able to pick up another at 9 a.m. and move everything over. They even arranged for a hotel nearby.
The hotel was … scary. The Uhaul location was closed, which led to a rather heated phone conversation. I don’t raise my voice often, but their customer service to fail. Miserably.
Up before the others, I took a walk around Staunton. A lovely place, I wouldn’t be opposed to visiting again under better circumstances.
