Pulled out the story collection and had students start analyzing the elements of a good photo story. None subscribe to any magazines, which no longer surprises me. But their delight at flipping the pages does.

I’m Listening
Little known fact: I am a ham.
Not the salty kind, not the funny kind. The amateur radio kind. I got my license 26 years ago but haven’t been on the air in probably 16 years. Decided to dig this out and see if it still worked.
It does, programmed it to listen to several of the repeaters in the area. Not a lot of activity, but the upcoming storm may make it useful.

A bit of a roller coaster day. A cold start, 22 when I pulled out. Then to the university’s MLK breakfast with a great speaker, James M. Bailey, president and CEO of the H.J. Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. The crisp air and the deep, deep blue sky made for a nice afternoon walk, too.
