Some more running around, getting the students ready for the opening ceremonies. They were dispatched around the venue and I headed to the Associated Press bureau to edit.
Chaos ensued, however, as the students’ cameras were set right for transmitting, a lot of texting instructions to get it all to work. Better tonight than tomorrow.

Associated Press photojournalist Emilio Morenatti spent some time with the kids today, talking about his approach to covering the Paralympic Games. In the evening, we did our last touristy thing, heading up to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a nighttime view of the city.

The students are now here, we’re just about ready to go. I’m comfortable getting around the city, the rail system is pretty efficient (if warm at times).

Third journey over to the Main Press Center to sort out the photo vests, this is getting a little silly but I’m now in possession of all the vests for us, the Associated Press and another university.

A look out the window of my hotel room shows a different view of the city, workers and weather. Some time on the Metropolitan and then an evening walk down to the Arc de Triomphe.

The overnight flight was without drama, the transit from the airport to the city relatively easy. Tried to stay awake for the day, see some sights including the Main Press Center for the Paralympic Games and Notre Dame, still wrapped up and recovering.
