In Between Days

Paris, France

I spend a lot of time sitting in press centers and shuffling between locations, making sure the students have what they need. Hustling to the Eiffel Tower venue, I hopped off the subway a little early and walked a bit, trying to absorb a little more of Paris in our last few days here.

One of my heroes, Henri Cartier-Bresson, covered Paris extensively in the mid-20th century. Today, maybe, I got close to his ideals of composition and decisive moment. Close, but not quite there, alas.

Archery

Paris, France

Headed out to the Esplanade des Invalides for archery with some of the students. Timing the release is virtually impossible in a single frame, but the gear loaned to the kids by Canon allowed them to go into the electronic shutter mode and do 30 or more frames per second – lean on the button and hope they release before you fill the buffer.
