Not quite ready for the next storm.

A little rain, a little sun and an ice cream truck.

In two weeks time, my colleague Vicki Michaelis and I will haul nine students to Rio de Janeiro to cover the Paralympic Games. Nine kids, ten days, Rio … what could possibly go wrong?

Not much of one, really.

A few days after my colleagues, I began teaching today, starting my twelfth year at the University of Georgia. Some days, I still feel like a little weed trying to take root.

I don’t know why there was a table with a red table cloth sitting on the side of the road, maybe an abandoned lemonade stand? We have had 47 consecutive days above 90 degrees now and we keep adding to that record.
