The CBS Rally runs tomorrow, one last time on the roads. The number of buildings left to rot in rural Georgia always amazes me.

Today was our McGill Symposium for Journalistic Courage and I was thrilled to have documentary photojournalist Billy Howard come in to talk about his work. The bulk of our time was spent on his book, Epitaphs for the Living, a series of portraits he did in the 1980s about people living with HIV/AIDS.

We also touched on his work documenting other subcultures, from strippers to kids with cancer. Powerful stuff.

Dinner last night with a job candidate and I asked her who inspired her photography. She came back with Fan Ho, who I wasn’t familiar with.

Spent part of the evening studying his work. Good choice.

A dust barrier went up around the dean’s suite as ceiling tiles started to come down.

We ran the safety check for the next rally, it was a little dirty …

Made it to the second day of the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. As usual, I spent more time talking in the wings than listening in the halls.
