Evening light through the garden, fluorescent lights at the BBQ joint.
As They Were
Almost a week ago, I was in the process of shutting down the pool and prepping the house for the remnants of Irma when I injured my back. All the tools I had out didn’t move after that … and the pool still hasn’t been closed, may be a few more days.
Barriers, Guides and Preparations
Home game this weekend, so the stands are up and the knocked-over signs have been replanted.
Lots of patterns down by the engineering building.
Vacuum Pressure
Parked next to an old Ford truck this morning. If my memory is correct, the fuel tank sits behind the bench seat in this model, sloshing right in back of the driver and passengers.
Damage and Darkness
Was able to get up and walk around a bit today. We got lucky, mostly twigs and leaves down though a few big branches were shed, one clouting the edge of the shed.
Power went out Monday afternoon and we’re still dark Tuesday night. Lots of candles in use.
Blowing
Storm hit this afternoon, strong winds and driving rain through to the late night hours.
Outside, Inside
Hurricane Irma is headed our way, so the all the things outside that could fly had to come in. And, shortly after shooting yesterday’s images, I leaned over to pick up a plastic shovel and popped something in my back.
The Mrs. And Medium Boy took on the brunt of preparations, hauling tables and chairs into the crawl space and living room.
Also, ouch.
