We’ve had these glasses for several years, still enjoy the way light passes through them.
Graduating
Yesterday, my student Gabrielle Cowand was the class orator at Grady’s convocation, today she was down front as a First Honors Graduate during the university’s commencement.
She was one of many who spent time in the Photo Cave. They ask if they’ll be missed and the answer disappoints them: No.
Their departure means they are ready, ready to go affect change in their communities, ready to make a difference.
I’ve enjoyed my time with this crop, but I’m ready to see who they’ve become.
Convocating
Another semester comes to an end with Grady’s convocation ceremony. The graduates get two ceremonies. The first with their home college where we read all their names and have them walk across a stage and shake hands.
The following day is the university’s commencement where they stand as a college and shift their tassels to the left.
Opening Night
Opening night for the show the Mrs. is in, a radio play version of It’s a Wonderful Life. And it’s a wonderful show.
Frosted
Cold nights but the green persists here in Georgia.
Cold Light
The weather has turned, which is fine. But the heating system in the college failed, so it’s been a bit brisk in the office.
Lit
The Christmas tree is up and the lights are on. Waiting for the Girl Child to return before we decorate.
