We packed it up late last night and rolled north early this morning. The youngest is off to grad school, so a car and trailer full of apartment goods were hauled up to Pennsylvania in a day.
A smaller rig than the last trip up here.
Straight out from our porch, where I sit many mornings and evenings, is an old oak tree. It’s lost one big limb, big enough I needed a tree service to clean it up. It’s shedding smaller ones again.
I worry about that tree. I’ve spent 18 years watching the sun slip down it in the morning and that same sun set behind it in the evenings. It’s like an old friend, slowly wasting away.
