Those Joro spiders and their webs grab everything.

Oak
Straight out from our porch, where I sit many mornings and evenings, is an old oak tree. It’s lost one big limb, big enough I needed a tree service to clean it up. It’s shedding smaller ones again.
I worry about that tree. I’ve spent 18 years watching the sun slip down it in the morning and that same sun set behind it in the evenings. It’s like an old friend, slowly wasting away.

Road Game
During the fall, I try to get out to four or five games with my students, usually homes games for Oglethorpe County. A couple asked if I was headed out for the away game in Wilkes County. Hadn’t been to the field before, so decided to make that ride. Glad I did.
