We headed east to the Granite Bowl in Elbert County for this week’s football workshop. Homecoming, so lots of festivities.
When we returned to campus, two owls sailed past and up onto a power line. For the photographically-inclined, the last images was made at 1/3 of a second, f/2.8 and ISO 25,600 – I could not see the barred owls with my own eyes, but the camera could. This technology is staggering.

My parking lot at work used to be a rail line. There are semi-active tracks at the back of it and they didn’t pull up all the steel where we park. Some subsidence is now evident.

Many of the walls of my building are filled with sand, placed there during construction to mitigate sound travel. Which is great, unless you need to open up a wall to do some electrical work.
