An evening drink, pondering old times.
During the day, we had Deborah Norville back on campus, which drew retired professor Bill Lee into the building. Norville was in Lee’s first class back in the late 1970s.
We ended up with about a half inch of ice on horizontal surfaces, but nothing that really stuck to the trees. No damage, power only flickered once Sunday night. Campus closed for the day and will delay opening on Tuesday, too.
Our area dodged a bullet.
We had a little sleet, then a little freezing rain overnight. A lull midday and then expected to pick up again into the evening. As of noon, power is still on. I’m making jokes about when we get to gorge on storm snacks.
The storm is set to start this evening. We’ve done as much prep as we can – devices are charged, we have power adapters for the tools, a solar generator, cars are away from tree branches. We will spend most of our time on the first floor, so I hung towels across second floor windows to keep some heat in.
