After taking a few years off, my colleague Andrea Bruce re-launched the McGill Medal for Journalist Courage. The McGill Fellows, 12 current students, selected photojournalist Tamir Kalifa who came and spent some time with them, including performing a few songs about the people and families he has been documenting in the aftermath of the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shootings.
It was a powerful presentation.
