Editing

Athens, Georgia

We did a picture editing exercise in the intro class today. Teams had to narrow down a large stack of prints to just ten, then sequence them. Learning how images flow, how you build a narrative, is a key part of photojournalism. Dumping dozens of images in a gallery isn’t journalism, it’s click-scavenging.

#GoDawgs

Athens, Georgia

Even with hundreds of trach cans spread across campus, there was still rotting garbage strewn across my parking lot. I really doubt the dedication of fans to their old school – is this how you think those of us who work here should be treated?

Meanwhile … we’re now fostering a little pupper. She’s in rough shape, missing most of her fur behind her neck. Licorice is not yet impressed at our benevolence.

New Fire Pit

Athens, Georgia

After many years of service, my cheap metal fire pit gave up the ghost last week – rotted through the bottom. So, why not upgrade?

This was shockingly easy to make. Less than two hours, start to finish, after getting back from the big box store with the pieces. Very happy with how it turned out.

Rally Day

Braselton, Georgia

The SCCA called last month and asked about putting on a rally to go with our regions’s major road racing event. Hesitantly, I said yes. We had a dozen teams come out for a 100 mile wander, lots of smiles and groans at the end.
